No, they are quite unusual, especially in old asylums...

Many asylums there had some creepy names to me at least - Hellingly, Severalls, Cane Hill, Netherne... kinda cool sounding now that they are abandoned though!

I was looking at the vents on the walls when coming up with a title :)

Thank you though, always interesting to hear about the place when it was operational!

It was very sterile... most of the hospitals in England seem to emit this feeling in my opinion, I suppose I will hear other views in the future galleries and see if you guys agree.

Perhaps it was the renovations, or lack of equipment and objects that drive the feeling of people having lived here that cause this...

Buckykat, no, there is most likely spyware on your computer. This website does not and will never have pop-up advertisements.

Yes I have many more galleries from England and Belgium in the works.

Hellingly has not begun the process of renovation / demolition as of yet. Severalls, the next asylum I will be posting, was in the midst of demolition

It is most definitely an autopsy table, the metal underneath the grill funnels into the center drain that runs through the hydraulic piece. From my experience, this is one of two autopsy table models that are quite common in US hospitals.

No offense taken, an honest critique is always helpful.

Morgana - I had an idea and unfortunately these commodities were the only way I could convey it. I was not entirely happy with them either but it was all I could use with the limited time, money, and resources I had. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy these, all further models will most likely be placed in a different section of the website.

kathyd - I wished the shots would've looked more timeless, unfortunately I could not access an older model bow (they aren't very popular in NYC). Thank you for your input and suggestions.

Some places had quite a bit of graffiti, I try to keep it out of the photos if it looks bad... but it wasn't much different than the USA.

I mentioned I don't use HDR, a program that blends the shots together for you.
