Mott,
I have heaters just like that. hot water runs through & cools to make hot steam. they wouldn't catch fire & it does make it less hot. I've touched one once & I blistered. it sucked!
well it was open until the late 80's so it was probably from then!!!

maybe you need to read instead of yell!!
sinister1.
I wouldn't want to live there. There's asbestice [sorry for the spelling!] & it'll kill you!!!

haha
they actually just closed it down in the 80's so Mott that light might be a newer addition to the place, they never really fixed up the interior. But I wish I could walk around like this, you're pictures are amazing
ps. a former patient still lives around my house, she comes to visit my parents all the time. Just thought it might interest someone!
they only patrol around like a few times then leave, just listen close for the cars, it's so quiet you can run back inside a building in time, thats what me & my friends did. During they day is better your 1st time!
it's sitting right near the river & it floods alot, so it probably just rained a lot & I'm sure the carpet just was ripped up, there's still a little in the house I was in, but it was covered in crap!!!!
I don't want to sound like a bitch but remember this school was opened in the early 1900, they didn't know what they were doing was hurting them!

so don't say it's inhumane or stuff like that, just remember they weren't as knowledgeable as we are now!
thanks

ps. that place is really cool if you ever get to go, just make sure you don't get caught!
