I just noticed your question Mica in Sweden.
Funny stuff. But seriously Pigeons are the same birds related to doves you see all over the planet. I'm pretty sure all birds are edible but some from what I've heard don't taste so good. Penguin is one I heard of that tastes rather nasty.
I expect the only thing limiting edibility of pigeons in a city would be what they were eating and how that affected the quality and flavor of their meat.

Mold isn't very hard to kill on hard surfaces. They key is to find and stop the source of moisture it lives off of.

The item to the left of the compartment doors looks to be a ceramic porcelain coated hook for hanging stuff.

Yesterday, upon the stair,
I met a man who wasn't there.
He wasn't there again today,
I wish, I wish he'd go away...

When I came home last night at three,
The man was waiting there for me
But when I looked around the hall,
I couldn't see him there at all!
Go away, go away, don't you come back any more!
Go away, go away, and please don't slam the door...

Last night I saw upon the stair,
A little man who wasn't there,
He wasn't there again today
Oh, how I wish he'd go away...

Interesting how that pic stays stuck with the many layers of old wall covering under it and the rest of the stuff has peeled away.

Were there any birds there when you were taking pics Tom? Seems like whatever attracted them is gone and they have moved on but I really cannot tell.
