Morgues wouldn't have freezers, they would contain refrigerators. Wouldn't they?

As a former resident of Northeast Philadelphia, "Byberry" was a common site along the boulevard.
I attended school and graduated from college in the Philadelphia area. For the past 27 years, I have been lucky enough to be a stay at home Mom.
My family and I now live far away, and I was introduced to this site by one of my daughters.
I never anticipated individuals who might "hang out" at an abandoned psychiatric hospital (with beer in tow!) and be proud of it!
Kudos to Motts for the breathtaking photographs, of this and other places in the country.
I will accept being a *loser*, if that is your definition. My definition of a loser is one who hangs out at a place like Byberry, FOR YEARS!

The losers who deface and "hang out" at Byberry seem to be the only ones roaming around there!

A bit frightening! Thanks for the insight from an "insider"!

This gives some idea of just how DARK it must be here, at and all these abandoned properties. How long do you spend at each site, setting up shots?
Great pictures! Thank you!

Responses show what sad lives the individuals who desecrate this abandoned hospital have.

Desecration. That is the correct word! Byberry has truly been desecrated. It seems by people that have nothing better to do, or nowhere else to go. Sad lives.

All this vandalism is unnecessary. It certainly detracts from all of the surroundings.

Is vandalism also his calling card, like all the rest?

The graffiti is pathetic.
