There were 2 "juvenile" sections of Ypsi. Both were considered York Woods Center. I believe one was North and the other South. North was in the newer building (with the pool) and South was located off the lobby of the main building (the old building). I know this because I lived there from 1987-1989 (age 13-15). We had therapy visits and school classrooms on the second floor and I actually had a job of delivering newspapers to the teachers every morning. I can remember taking the tunnels to nearly everything (dentist, gyno, gymnasium). The stairs that led to the tunnels always creeped me out...I always thought some "sex-crazed loon" was gonna jump out from under them and snatch me lol! I remember we had 2 day-rooms with an office in between them that the staff would sit and observe us from. There were 2 seclusion rooms directly across from the office, as well. Our meals were brought up from the tunnels via the elevator. I always looked forward to it. It was the only thing that seperated the long days. Wow, lots of memories....good and bad... but I suppose thats not so crazy considering I was a teenage girl locked up in an insane asylum!
