That's right!! NO ONE CARES!!! It's all about money, 21st century yuppie-ism, SUV's, CONDO's,...and destroying things like Rocky Point to make way for the above. Small parks like this were so great, because you could actually ride the rides and enjoy yourself; as opposed to Six Flags, where you pay a small fortune to stand in line all damned day...for a 30 second ride!!! Shame Shame Shame

It seems as thought we can't decide whether this is the beer garden or kiddie carousel....I can't place this little building at all, and I seen to remember the beer garden being located between the House of Horrors and the Chairlift ride. Maybe this place had already been long abandoned by the time I started going there?

to the person who asked if the carousel had a 'calliope', it had a band organ the first time I went there, although the bass drum and glockenspiel portions of it weren't working. It was replaced by an electronic-sounding 'organ' with lots of flashing lights. I wonder where the original organ went?

What Rhode Islander can forget Rocky Point.......I first went there in 1986, and last went 1996; the last season. Always a great time. Too bad. It was one of the Few 'cool' places in RI. Another poster mentioned Whalom Park in Lunenburg MA......I went there many times as a kid as well!! Next time you go to Six Flags in Springfield MA; take a look at the smaller wooden roller coaster smack in the middle of the park; it is IDENTICAL to the old Whalom Park coaster. Purchsed from Whalom, possibly? Anyone remember LIncoln Park, out in the Fairhaven area?
