I'm surprised they didn't ship these locomotives off to some third-world country, they look like they have some life left in them.
Ahh, first again!! Looks like this person just went out on a break and will be back in say 20 years or so?
HA!! I'M FIRST!! Love shots of old technology and machinery that's been just sitting around decaying....
yea, my 1961 Chrysler had those in the rear. Gave a good ride -
That round thing on the right looks like a door bell
I could move into this place and live -
Somebody got a nice mantle out of it -
Obviously they don't have packs of destructive teenagers with cans of spray paint roaming these ruins like they have over here in the USA
That lone chair sure gets around. I keep coming back to this site, it's the best! Today I'm glad I did, two new galleries!! There are others out there that have pictures like this but none that go into the history of the location or have such interesting comments! LOVE IT!!
Make that three - fellow tech geek here and I too would love to see this stuff. And in answer to the first post, more than likely some smart assed teenagers who have nothing better to do than destroy things. Pisses me off.
and also, I love the comments on the old machinery by people that either worked with it or have some experience. Excellent!
Motts, I know this is a bit late, but I hope you leave things as they are. I am a newcomer so to speak but keep coming back and back. I like reading the comments. If any editing is done, maybe the one or two word comments but certainly leave the lengthy comments, I've learned so much by reading them as far as the history of mental health. And I agree with the other writer that said there are other sites that are similar, but none such as good.
I agree with BustedTresspasser - it is a shame they didn't put the effort and money into restoring these buildings into apartments or affordable living places. Although I may feel a bit spooked living in a place that was once a hospital or asylum, but eventually I think I would. After all, every apartment or house I have lived in had someone die and two have enen been "haunted". It's all good.
Elevator to Hell - would make a good horror movie -
All these forgotten spirits - I wonder what it's like here at midnight, do they all come out and roam the halls? I would!!
