The floor was really solid in the place - made of stone or concrete. I have gone few a few others though ;-)

No, most were taken with a tripod... it was dim inside, and I didn't want to take a chance at having blurry photos.

Fine art paint probably doesn't hold up to the elements like the thicker paints used on walls... it is also likely the walls were given a new coat since the original paintings were made in the 50s.
