that is true Canada, never thought of it like that. When I lived in Rhode Island, our DMV was in an old bank and I remembered going into the bank when I was a kid and the ceiling was all skylights. I use to love going in it when it rained or snowed. Now its been covered over with plywood and old tarps, but I can still see the skylights in my minds eye

The fire escape doesn't look to be original... the postcard on the location page (1907) and a 1909 postcard both do not include it, yet a 1930s postcard does show it.
