To be technical, those are syringes. Syringes may or may not have needles on the end. A pipette is more of a dropper, while a syringe is defined by possessing a plunger which creates suction.
i graduated high school in 2003... it seems like such a short time ago. it's amazing how one goes into those places, or looks at the pictures. and thinks from the looks of it that the place has been abandoned for ages, when in reality it was only a few years. there's a hospital like that in my town, that closed in 2001(?) but anyone would think it closed much earlier than that.
stainless steel is easy enough to keep clean if you do it on a regular basis; i wonder what kind of chemicals were stored in there... they could be made into "food" (or an explosion.) what part of the hospital was this in? just a lab or something?
You don't actually pee into the tube. You pee into the cup. With a great deal of care, to avoid spillage, it is poured from the cup, into the tube. The tube is put into a centrifuge, spun down, the majority of the pee is poured off. The lab tech then pours a wee sample of the sludge at the bottom and looks at it under a microscope.
Gosh! It's a great photo. I love its simplicity and the composition. It's interesting for me thereis the same tube for urine sample as for blood's ones. In my country we use different tubes for blood samples but we collect urine in little jars. On the other hand it must me damn difficult to pee into tube like that ;)))
Kristiara your my kind of girl! That would be so much fun!
I so need to get that for my work we all store our lunch's in the same fridge. That will be the last time my Twinkies disappear! LOL!
It's nearly mid-night over here Joe so I know how you feel. Crazy that a guy like me is looking at photo's of abandoned buildings at midnight and not porn.
I think the world really has gone askew... or at least my brain has.
I've seen faucets with hose connections just like in the photos in my college's science labs. Things like distillation apparatus require a water supply, which you connect by a hose to one of those faucets.
It looks to me (enclosed space, sloping rear wall) that this is inside a fume hood.
