Most of the places I've visited in the Midwest didn't have much vandalism at all (except for in the big cities)... many of them were just torn up from scrapping.

Ground floor; this building was only one story, but the upper floors of other buildings looked like they could support quite a bit of weight.

it looks like the light on the right side of the shot belongs to a train of some sort...like an old abandoned subway station

Interesting! In this photo the wooden blocks look like they were laid on top of concrete. I wonder if they were just there to cushion the floor or deaden the noise?
