I very much enjoy viewing the photos of historic buildings. It makes me sad that these beautiful majestic building are not being used today, it almost seems wasteful. I would like to see these incredible buildings be used again perhaps not as Asylums, but for other means. It is horible that people were cruel the mentally challanged. However I do belive the world itself is cruel and these people need refuge...not abuse and mistreatment that once plagued them, but locations of growth away from the cruelty of the world itself.

It's so interesting to see all of these, considering I grew up about 3 minutes away from the place. I pass the sight now on my way to work everyday, sad that it's not longer there. :(
