Very Lovecraftian. Hey I just made up a brand new phrase-yay me! It really does look like something from an H.P. Lovecraft novel or Stephen King. Any other comments are welcome.
Was the shower room here inside the wards? Because I explored the ward very throughly a couple weeks before they were raised and I couldn't find them.

I remember being a child and visiting my father at Worcester state. It has haunted me for years.

My mother worked at Worcester State for years. My sister and I would ride our bikes to see our mom. Sometimes she would be on the grounds with the patients. (They always used to give her the most violent patients) but they would be kittens in her hands, my mom was a sweet, beautiful soul and these patients responded to that. This looks like one of the rooms for hanging out if you weren't to far gone and did not need to be strapped down. My sister and I used to hang out at the State Hospital with the patients and we toured the underground tunnels. I don't see any photos of the tunnel rooms. It may be old and beautiful but many people suffered here and were murdered by staff.

Incredibly awesome. The shadow makes it particularly interesting...reminds me of a Japanese ghost story. Great shot!

Such a beautiful shot. Looks like an old engraving. Why do they have to destroy such beautiful buildings? Surely they could live again in some capacity.

I grew up in Shrewsbury (suburb right outside of Worcester) and the WSH always spooked me every time I drove past. I haven't been back to Mass in a little over 6 years. I cannot believe they're demolishing it!
