Hi there, We just today purchased one of these Micromax machines -looks exactly like this one pictured here- at an estate auction in northwestern PA, and are wondering what it is.

Thanks for the update Terre, it's a shame more of the Kirkbride couldn't be preserved.

In 2014, the current and new facility, The Worcester Recovery Center, stands next to the former main building that used to house the patients. This has now been deemed structurally unsound and is slated for demo. The clocktower has been dismantled and the bricks that were part of it are being used to construct some sort of replica. This is a painstacking process due to the fact that each one of them needs to be numbered and recorded before they can be used to construct the new tower. There is still one older building that stands on the grounds and I believe there are plans to renovate it and turn it into an educational center of some kind (but don't quote me on that one, I could be mistaken). Anyway, just an FYI about the current status of this facility in case anyone is curious!

Just thought I'd let people know that the Bryan Building, which took the place of the old state hospital on the grounds in the 1950s was recently condemned due to a crack in the foundation. Also, the clock tower was demolished a few months ago :(
That shadow reminds me of a birdcage, with a small creature sitting inside..
