? maybe the insulin stored here for the shock therapies as it had to be refrigerated
wow, absolutely amazing.

I love how the piano is brought to the viewers' attention by the colours around it, greys, browns, blacks. it really draws out the white of the piano, making the viewer focus and take in the details.

your photographs, in my opinion, give way to many the secrets and stories this building, and many others like it, holds; as well as the imagination. there are so many emotions portrayed in your photographs, they give the viewer a sense of feeling.

you have the ability to bring what is hidden among darkness into the light.

I am glad that you had the opportunity to capture parts of this wondrous building that were later demolished.

In the future, I would love to photograph such buildings myself.

Wow! That's really interesting, Tom; you really know your stuff! I just have an old 35mm camera, but at least it works. I love the effect that you get with that picture, especially when it is one of my favorite and most familiar subjects, WSH. By the way, in case you didn't know, Saint Veronica, (the one who wiped Jesus' face while he was carrying the cross) is the patron saint of photographers. I just happened to find that out a few days ago, and I thought of you. Keep up the fantastic work, pal! : )

It's infrared photography - letting only certain wavelengths through the lens, making plants look white and the sky black. The shutter must be open for a few seconds to a minute or so, making cloud trails as the move across the sky.

I remember seeing those bars on all the windows outside when I was a kid...all these pictures of WSH really do capture the sad and sombre tone of this place. It makes one wonder what the patient was thinking and feeling as he/she was looking out beyond the bars.

I love these old stairwells-they bring so much character to this place. You wonder how many lives went up and down those stairs and what their life was like...

Hey Mr. Motts! What kind of photography technique do you use to get such a dramatic effect? Just wondering.
Now that's just wrong. An exit sign? Seriously? Give the patients false hope why dontcha?
@patty
eww is right.
Hmm. I see there is already an anonymous so I will have to be Anonymous # 2.
Nice shot. Looks like something out of Dracula.

Yet another perfect hallway shot.

Good photo. Looks like something on an episode of Ghost Hunters. I can almost picture Jason, Grant, Tango, and the gang walking around trying to get evps, voice recordings, thermal images, etc.

Great shot man. I almost got goosebumps when I saw this pic.
Another beautiful shot. It looks like a castle I saw in England.
