Lynne,
Yes and no.... lol This is a very powerful picture. And yes, it immediately gave me the feeling of being sucked underwater, trapped in a ship that is sinking with no way out. I'm reminded here of an old movie called - The Last Voyage - which scared the heck out of me. I have no claustrophobic issues, but I do have major drowning fears.
Damn Motts... you certainly have an amazing ability to stir emotional reactions with your photography.

I can just imagine being there, hearing all the creaks and groans. The splashing of the water on the sides of the ships, totally cool, thanks motts

I KNEW that beer would make its way into the conversation at some point. 8`-)

And your beer. Don't forget your beer. That way if you dropped a can you could just jump in after it instead of worrying about all that decomposing green gunk from the ceilings. :-)

Good point. Thats wasn't the best combination of sentences, was it? 8`-)

OK, what I meant was that I got two different thoughts/feelings from looking at this photo. First was that the picture was incredibly impressive in the way it was put together - the colors, the centering, the look and feel of the slowly eroding iron and the murky water juxtaposed against the blue sky. Second was a claustrophobic feeling of being trapped and slowly sucked under water, which is something that scares the bejesus out of me when I think about it (which I try not to do very often <G>), and it is amazing that a simple photo could elicit all of this at once.

That better? :-)

I'm really not sure, you're asking the wrong guy :-)

I'm sure a more nautical person could take a good guess...
