Rich nice tribute to all, glad to see you are still kicking and enjoying the summer heat (yuck). It is also good to see that the people who came after us share the same type of memories. Sunnycroft was just that kind of place in everyones life..God Bless you and all sunnycrofters.
It's 2017, "Sunnycroft" still a memory, some of the specifics are alittle more difficult to remember. But Mike DeMello, Annette Schneider, Mike her Father, his Girlfriend Barbara, a salesperson for John Myers of Norwich, Morty my Father, and his girlfriend, a former Playboy Bunny Lynn, Sylvia, Mike's Elegant Mom, and the Ranch itself I will never ever forget. Artie Karp, Big Rod, Maybe it's the "Heat Of Summer" down here, on the #1 beach in the USA, it's 102 today. GOD Bless us all & let us never ever forget Sunnycroft Ranch.
I've looked at alot of the stuff on this website, i like it! But what comes to mind is the vanity of it all....people spend mega money building things to make more mega money, and in 30 years or more it's left to rot and decay. Is there a point to it all? Only God knows.
I was the 16 yo lifeguard at Sunnycroft during the summer of '69---Woodstock. I have lots of memories including working for Mike Schneider, Steve the waiter, Jimmy "Baccahla" Adducci, Frank in the kitchen, etc When my parents visited, Mike told them that "shveyr arbiter he's not".(not hard working).
I remember the red tractor, Mike's cowboy boots, waiting on the people at the outdoor pool. Not wearing a bathing suit most of the time, especially for the indoor pool. Listening to Led Zep at night. Frank's facial scar, Frank and I going with the cops to Woodstock and eventually quiting to hitchhike around New England. I remember Mom's that stayed with their kids for a month and the husband visiting on weekends. etc.
