I was thinking the exact same thing when I saw this photo--I really hope no one vandalizes this window. It would be a loss beyond words if it broke because of some kid's idiocy...
What a fantastic room! I hope someday it is put to some use again--seems too beautiful to simply leave to decay (though I'm guessing it would make an equally beautiful ruin).
Reminds me of a video game for the PS2 called Shadowman 2: The 2econd Coming. In it, there is a point in the game where you come to this very large cavernous round rotating room. Albeit, the room in the game was more evil-like than anything else and had the dark motif going on, it is indeed a little similar to this one in that it reminds me of it. Really cool shot though...almost panoramic. But really eerie even without the game reference.
I don't know, it reminds me of certain things that I have dreamed about. Kind of like walking into a room like that only to discover things that doesn't belong there and waking up very suddenly...
Now this one HAS to be commented on for the sheer reason that is one of those shots that looks absolutely spooky without even meaning to be. Its like one of those places you discover you are never meant to know about. Wow... Brilliant shot nonetheless....
I would so like convert that into a nice comfy chair, or slap on some wheels, a semi-powerful motor, a control device and I would be zooming around with coolness and class!!! Oh and I would also probably slap on some decals and maybe some angel wings on the top part!
Holy Sweet Hannah Merciful Mother of Eternal Grace! That sure looks sinister even if it isn't intended to be seen that way. That snapshot makes it look like a jail or something... Actually, it seems more of a planned establishing shot for some classic low-budget Grade Z horror movie of doom! Really interesting and well-planned shot though...
This could very well be re-used as a high school or educational institution as it reminds me of both. This is one of those shots that, even though the building is abandoned, the photograph lends to it some form of life. I don't know, it just makes me feel that this building just isn't abandoned at all, just a little unkempt and still in very good shape. A very excellently taken snapshot, Mr. Motts. Very well done!
All naughtiness and unclean (but rudely hilarious) thoughts and expressions aside, I like this photograph. It takes deep advantage of the black & white nature of the film, something that tends to lend something that might give an alluring almost eerie sight in its original color state, more edginess and perhaps more starkness in its photographed form. A true work of black & white photographic expertise. Well done indeed!!!
