Your pictures are beautiful. I am impressed with the beauty you found in a place where historically there was not much that could be considered "beautiful." You are a master of your art form, without question.
Enjoyed your efforts,I have always been drawn to sites of beauty,or interest left, abandoned,.throw away architecture, and "haunted" by the question of why, especially some of these homes that appear to have had the people simply walk out the door. Will be a reguar on your site thank you for being allwed to participate.
Good to see that opacity's resident unmedicated schizophrenics are back in the saddle again.
For the other viewers: please be aware that militant and wildly overblown victim stories blamed on psychiatry is a standard delusional paranoid symptom of schizophrenia known as "delusions of persecutions" and "delusions of clarity". Despite being unable to compose a sentence without emotionally-overwrought word salad or confabulation, they are utterly convinced that they are persecuted victims of a vast legion of trained torturers, who (fascinatingly) are THEMSELVES insane and belong in a psychiatric hospital.
"I was put in restraints in the seclusion room. I lost touch with reality and thought I was paralyzed. I thought I had died and gone to hell. They left me alone in my pain."
You were an acute schizophrenic suffering from a psychotic break, aka "losing touch with reality". They "left you alone in your pain" because you were unfit to be around other human beings (or yourself) in that condition.
I don't condone psychiatric abuse, but knock this garbage off about every use of restraint being intended to torture an innocent victim. Every paranoid psychotic I've ever seen forcibly restrained said the same thing "RAPE! ABUSE! TORTURE! MONSTERS! HELLLLP!". It doesn't mean their fear and indignation isn't real, but it is the product of a badly diseased and disordered mind which cannot be counted on to perceive the real world accurately.
Me and my roomate went inside the other night inside we saw dried blood and heard whispers also saw shadows and we went into of the rooms and saw a doll house the entire room was dust covered except the doll house that was when we left and heard screaming as we left the building
I know that a lot of times there were some sort of "protectors" that you could use for safety reasons in front of a fireplace..maybe there used to be something like that?
My grandmother worked here as an occupational therapist from 1950 to 1970 when she retired. She lived on the grounds of the State Hospital. I wonder if there would be references to her and her work with patients. She taught them Swedish folk art cross stitch and embroidery. Idle hands that work of the devil and all, I imagine.
For some reason that huge gash is remarkably....beautiful. Maybe its the way the bricks around it curl outwards or justr the contrast between the outer wall and inner wall
