And you'll clean the durned lightbulb off at the same time with all that nice soap! ;-)

StacyMarie, my dear, haven't you ever seen a picture of Big Foot? I could manufacture a "photo" in 5 minutes that would turn that soap dispenser into a lovely light fixture - and how could anyone refute THAT lovely photographic evidence? ;-)
I'm with you cg. Such a waste. But then waste seems to be a recurring theme in so many of these images.
Twug I'm with you. Cats seem to *know* when they're going to die, and like to hide away somewhere enclosed and comfortable to do it. The old stray theory seems to be closest to the mark. if it had been locked in there it would be twisted and contorted, plus that paper would be shredded by the claws. If the drawer was left open, it looks very comfortable - exactly the sort of place a cat would curl up for a nap...
Deco heaven!
Dinner is served :-/
What Cyrus said. Some of the stuff in these places should be in museums not rotting and vandalised. Makes for a powerful shot though! I see things like this and always wonder who was the last person to watch it, what was being shown. The personal significance of ordinary objects.

Hard to think of food in a place like this.
I don't know why, but for some reason this image works as a metaphor for the death of the whole building for me...

Motts, next time pull the thing apart and stick a blessed light bulb in it... that solves the whole issue. After all, who can refute photographic evidence?
That's very Art Nouveau in design.
Plumber's nightmare!
That's an incredible shot - can you imagine being committed to this place and seeing it from the car for the first time? The size, all those rows of windows - it's everyone's asylum nightmare...
I wish people would have a little more respect for these places.
What is it about mental hospitals and really creepy wall-paintings? If the kids weren't crazy when they went in, that would quickly change...
