I worked in this kitchen for about 5 years. I stumbled upon this site, it's great. I worked in bldg 39 in food service from 82-87. I can't believe the state of the place now.
"Just looking out of the building, wanting freedom, but all I see is another part of the prison and thick vegetation that keeps me trapped forever in the building."
Any sane person being locked up in that room for hours would be driven nuts. And it is just horrifying to know that there are many many more of those rooms in the Hospital.
@ the only smart one
"they should tear down every last building... they serve no purpose, except to lure people that have nothing else better to do but to the site to break in. Chances are that comment above in the pic was writen by some idiot who broke into the place. let the poor souls that were there rest."
Do you know what kind of historical value the whole Hospital has? Decades and decades of history! They just couldn't tear it down like that!
As for the picture. I agree that it might of been written after the place has been abandoned. But I do wish that it was written when Hospital still had activity.
this is late, but i agree with the whole "animals know when they're about to die" when my dog of about 14 died of heart failure, he went to his favorite spot under the porch and laid down.
They didn't forget to take the sinks, someone came and stole the copper piping underneath. For those of you who have been through that place, recall that most of the plumbing fixtures were torn out and seemingly abandoned.
I just got back from exploring building 93.. Its pretty awesome. Took about 30 mins to find a way in. They did a pretty good job on making sure people can't get in.
