Heh sorry I forgot to mention - the recess would probably be for a large overhead light.
I want to put a model train track here

Thank you Motts for the wonderful galleries!

You can reuse tiles as long as you can clean off the old thin set it was first set in.

Mica & Binky, It id definitely not typical today when latched doors all have a bar opener so you don't need your hands and non-latching doors usually swing both ways. I think that was an early 20th century design choice before Architects started taking staff input/medical needs into the design of hospitals.

Great photos as usual, you have quite the eye for this, a great talent! Cheers!
Judging from the rest of the building's condition, you're a braver man than I am standing on a suspended walkway!
Ohhh YES - look at all that GREEN GREEN GREEN determinedly creeping in.....I love it too.
This hodgepodge of additions show up real well on Google Earth;
holes in the roof and all - but no 3D on this building /yet/
- and from above you may really SEE how green is overtakning from behind.
May be there explosions?
Horrible thought!
With a little baby sleeping in one.....arghhhh...not `Explosion Proof´
These pictures!
Ohhh dear: what a mess! YES!
Don´t go making any furtive moves!
Looks like dead birds hanging up in the ceiling.
Am wondering if there were birds living there?
Yeah. But tile is doing fine, - even in shades of green, now to to match mould + moss.
Since mr. M is still so well, guess careful + clever enough always - helmet or no helmet.
No, Binky, none anywhere, hahaha - but there IS a curtain, still ½ -hanging on after all these years. Good job!
Thanks Motts for bringing me one of my favorite types of places--on to the next...

We all do, Mica's love of lights is de-light-ful & the comments on them can really brighten up my day.
