This room gives me the spooks. Public vagina proding does not seem like it should be legal.

Wow ive never seen anything like this. i mean it was like a performance.
Most of the women who would have given birth in this room would have probably been heavily medicated . Women were put into what was called a "twilight sleep" for the labour and delivery. I don't think anyone would have been sitting in here for hours watching either - once a woman was ready to give birth, she was moved from the labour room to a delivery room such as this. I highly doubt family was allowed to watch, the viewing area was most likely for med students.

I could be wrong, perhaps it was for the nurses to keep an eye on them...

The whole viewing area in the delivery room seems odd to me, seeing as how it was normal 30 years ago and beyond for NOBODY to be allowed in the delivery room, not even the husband. They were only allowed to see the baby through a window such as this one when the baby was moved to the nursery. Was this a really progressive hospital that allowed many people to witness the birth?

Those dang scrappers!
And this is why I had a mid-wife when I gave birth. If other people had tried to watch I would have started chucking scalpels at them and such.

But I swear normally I'm a very pleasant person! =)

This is one of the depressing pictures on Opacity. Not that it is bad. You got to have at least one moddy picture on this site.
You're lucky that you went when you did...The picture is very sad, it brought a few tears to my eyes...

ugh... I'm with everyone, this is just too sad for me to handle...
in fact, I did find an old, tattered, scat-covered puppy once, and I'll be honest, call me crazy but I took him! I scrubbed the hell out of him and stuff and I'm still trying to figure out what I should do with him. I just couldn't leave him there or throw him away. I couldn'tve left this one here either!! it makes me so sad... its like he's layin there, waiting for his "master" to come back, and he's never gonna come back... :'(
