I can't believe the Met is going the way of Dix and Danvers. :-(
Developers + Asylums = Bad news
Well that would be useful if someone ran off half naked! LOL could you imagine someone finding an escaped male patient out on the town in one of these? ROTF! :D
God I'm so insensitive.
Have you ever contacted a museum about these photos? I'm sure someone would have you display them, lots of people would be into this if you could get a gallery to put them on display and pay for a small add to be printed in both the New York Times and Newsday. Really! These are better than more than half the junk in the galleries! I think you should try it Motts.
If only those walls could talk.....
That is a great photo, it looks like something out of those "A seris of unfortunate events" children's books. Well done Mt Motts! :)

i was there yesterday. me and my friends went inside n stuff. checked out the rooms. ALL beaten up n the walls n roofs were peeling. but the most messed up thing we saw was in the playground. we went to the playground of the hospital, and we were pointing at things wit our flashlights. then we poined at a wall next to a door leading to the caff. we read a grafitti and then 2 mins later we pointed to the door again by accident it was wide open. the same door. like sumone went by and opened it. one of the guys went to check it out and it was the door that led to the caff. its was serouisly messed up

Also, have you ever considered going to the Gaebler School right down the street? Thats another abandoned hospital, part of Metro.

Thanks! I also know from another site that the laundry building is gone, along with the superintendants house, but i didnt know about the chapel. I'm looking foward to more pics!

I'm not positive but I think the power plant, Furcolo, morgue, and chapel are gone.

The next set of photos coming up will be from here, which include the medical building and CTG.

Hey Motts, do you know exactly which buildings are down? Ive always wanted to go up and check the place out. Could you go back and take more pics after demo and of whats left? If you need it, I have an arial view of the place just before const. started.. you might find it useful to put up to mark which buildings are gone. Thanks!

this is such deja vu it isn't even funny, my dream last night had me in an old basement and the steps looked exactly like these.
the light shining through the window only adds to the direct impact of horror,
(reminds me of Nightmare on Elm street)

it sad really, this place sure has seen better days, if you can call them better, staying in any hospital isn't fun. Looks as if a tornado wiped through there, all in all this place is pretty cool looking
