Actually Foster Furcolo was the gov. of Mass. in the early 60's and began the reform of the mental health and retardation system as we know it today. Better but not great, at least he took an interest.

Why is it that all dentistry equipment looks oddly sinister? Does fear in the patient have some strange unknown effect that makes the dentist's job easier?
