I would have drawn something cheerier, like Wooly Willy.

Now that I think about, maybe that was painted by a cruel staff member to antagonize a patient.

The honeycombed ceiling is I think a concrete slab. The honeycomb matrix improves the strength to weight ratio by eliminating mass.

Is it just me or do the simplest little details seem the most disturbing? A rusting chute door, a broken chair, a sink, a faucet. The wider room shots are incredibly powerful, but these tight shots have such a desolating feeling of the loneliness and dispair of the place. Not sure how much is origional and how much is just the fact decaying buildings always feel a bit... 'off' but it's astonishing.

I have to compliment the photographer, this is what art was MEANT to be, the beauty and horror and dispair and hope of the place captured in absolutely magnificent detail and color. I've taken art classes, been to galleries in 2 continents and even done some photography myself, but I've never seen anything like this. It's absolutely amazing.
When you look at this pic, makes you wonder who opened them......was it human hands.......or ghostly hands....

Eerie!

that would have been so cool to be there when it actually fell. kinda like Phantom of the Opera. Only in this case it would be Phantom of the Hospital.

now all you need is a hand pulling the door inward, or inviting you inside!
