I wonder if the bottom shelf at least wasn't meant as a seat of sorts, they look awfully wide to just be storage. I won't hazard a guess as to the other two's purposes. I do see the shower head spot at the top, did they have giants there perhaps?

Look at that brick work! It is amazing the detail of each carved stone and how each one is trimmed at the ends so that it frames the window so beautifully. You just don't see stonework like that anymore.

The glass wasn't stained, but it was cut into decorative patterns and the edge was beveled, which created a prism rainbow effect inside.
