Maybe they made Ernie a girl to represent both genders, even if the shots are from seperate areas. I thought this was funny...

I am not sure if it helps or scares them. I am guessing it depends on their personal experiences at Gaebler. It left a big impact on my life and I wasn't a patient . I can't put myself in your shoes. Everyone probably feels different emotions when viewing this site.

I came upon this site by chance. It is crazy looking at these pictures and picturing it 20 plus years ago! It was a long time ago! I hope you are doing well.

I do not remember him. but escape attempts I was always good at. We had this woman Mrs. Henderson who used to fall asleep during the nightshift sitting at the girls end, and I would take her keys and go for it. Always got far away from the building, but eventually got caught. Once make it all the way to Chicopee MA before getting caught.

I've been just about everywhere in that place.
Both times I was there Mr. Heathwood was in charge. Again, not sure of the correct spelling.
I related my time of near escape from Ward B once, and I even managed to get to the basement once.

but what was good about it?to look back for a lot of friends that know that werethere had bad thoughts even i had them.notting good came from that place.most of the staff did not care and most of the kids all ended up in prison or back in the dmh.i live my life not caring for the place and knowing that i did not want to be caged not being able to go outside because someone says so.it is funny to see gaebler in web sites,a friend told me of this site.maureen i know her and was nice always to me.a happy person.i have talked to other staff there out at a mall or something and it is cool because i got along with them.

For myself personally, it is a reflection back to how things were when I was a kid. having kids of my own, personally I would never put them in a place like this no matter what the situation. I still often wonder what had happened to the staff and kids that I knew when I was there and how they are now.
