This was an observation room. Looks just like the one on ward C but I suppose they all were alike. The seclusion rooms were much shorter. Any of you that were there will remember narrow doors in the halls that were never opened. Staff would sit in those spaces and observe the kids through the narrow slots. I was told that this practice was stopped before my time there.(1965) but then ... they told us a lot of things, right
I was at the C.U. in 1965 ... Yeah, that's right I'm an old guy. If anyone reading this forum was there at that time say hey. I've often wondered what happened to some of you guys.
I was up there just yesterday. The tennis courts have been torn up and there are bob cats inside tearing it up. I was lucky and no one was working when I was there. If you want to visit one last time I advise you go as soon as possible. It won't be around for long.
Rod is probably responsible for the strict juvenile muder laws in MA: All 14+ murder defendants are tried as adults by law. I remember reading that he told his victim while leading him into the woods to his death "You never know when you need a baseball bat!"

Pookie,it WAS in fact thorazine.Thats what they gave us.I remember one girl, whom they always gave the maximum dose of thorazine, and always had to give her benadryl on top of it because the thorazine wasn't "enough".They didnt seem happy unless we were pretty well zombified.
Does any of the stories sound like the time u were there? How was the place then?
