I just buried someone who lived here for many years. It is a sad story, but the lady was a great person and dearly loved by the staff she lived with in her final days. I wonder if there are any others that are still alive and well.

I work in a group home on staten island, where thousands of people who have mental retardation reside. We also have a George Gervis Clinic, which is in I.B.R (the institute for basic research). Apparently, he was a great guy. Staten island was also home to Willowbrook, like Letchworth, was an institution that abused and tortured thousands of disabled persons. My patients lived at letchworth and willowbrook, and believe me, it scarred them for life.
