There is sometimes a theft problem Darlene. Or maybe the custom is not universal. I was taught it is to pay for the prayer candles and the extra went into the charity fund.

looks like Motts rested the camera on the front lip of the podium two pics back. the velvet there is probably where the bible would be placed for reading. Looks like there is a second podium behind it. Probably on wheels.
