I think flushed has it right on the nose. It looks like it might be some kind of safety glass...it breaks, but doesn't shatter as easily, like a windshield of a car.

I also agree with autoguy...if only these walls and bars could talk. I can't imagine facing these bars on this door as I was being taken out or brought in...*shudder*

Um...ok. Wow. You DO learn something new on this site every time you visit. :)

YAY A STAIRWAY SHOT!! :) We wub pictures of stairs! So creepy and sad, yet fascinating...

I thought the wall was on fire at first because of how the light is reflecting on the wall by the door there. How cool that looks...like little fires all in the room. :)

What is that pile of sticks underneath the bed frame there? Almost looks like a bird's nest.

CREEEEPY!

Good grief eldokid lol. I was just thinking the same exact thing lol.

GET OUTTA MAH HEAD!
Seriously...I love this picture! It is soooo cool how they are all so orderly still...rusty as all get out, but orderly.

The movie Annie...sort of. They slept in beds like this. It SO reminds me of an orphanage or reformatory.

Yep...what autoguy said. I seem to remember these kinds of sinks from somewhere. I can't remember when I had seen them (sorry!) though.

Really creepy kind of sink, honestly.

*Slaps forehead at soap dispenser joke*

Glad to see THAT joke hasn't died yet...*Deadpan look*

Doesn't look like those shower heads had a very good spray to them...

Yuk to the rust. I Think I will skip my shower thanks. :D

That caption almost sounds like the punchline to a bad joke. :)
Sad to see such a proud structure crumbling though.

This reminds me of another picture on another gallery...deja vu for sure!

Pretty as a picture though...er...pardon the pun. :D

Oh, and I am also sorry about your loss. That is partially the reason I, myself, has been gone for so long. My 4 year old son (E.) is sickly (kidney disease and he is Autistic and has a lot of challenges), my mom had passed away in July of '08, and then my grandma passed away in August of '13. My grandfather is ill with cancer and is dying, and now my Aunt is having severe issues with her health also.

<<>> I am glad to see that touching message dedicating this to your late friend. Peace, Mr. Motts. :)

Not going there anytime soon, I suppose!

P.S. I AM BACK GUYS! :D

possible those were for lightning rods to ground a lightning strike to the earth to avoid it going through the electrical system. It would have had a large steel cable going from them along the outside of the building down to a pole in the ground.
