My family lived in a 30's house and we had a toilet with a raised tank. Black as coal wrought iron with a wooden handle hanging from a chain..We never "Flushed"...we always "Pulled the chain"...And we lived in Middlesex..Ashford
If that bucket is from the labour ward, what do you think is in it?? Kinda worrying to think it may of had/has wee bodies in it :(
And even tho I have been in the States for a good number of years, us Brits call it the fridge...Just like we call it the "hoover" and not the vacuum (UGH Bloody spelling)
