That's a simply stunning shot...The way the old building is set against the color of the sky is gorgeous...seriously.

Just had a look around the site there are ways in and we didn,t encounter any dogs ... We had a look around the chuch/chapel at the grounds and also the newer developed yet derelict buildings ... Next time round its into the main builiding

Erin, my Schizophrenic grandmother used to be a chain smoker. And you are right, it did quiet her voices and calm her for a short time. Later when drugs got better and they discovered the ills of smoking, she quit. I give her a lot of credit, it had to have been hard to do with all of the problems she was having at the time. Most of the institutions she was in had designated smoking rooms for the patients.

ECT actually causes a seizure and used to be quite dangerous because they didn't give people any medication beforehand, so there was a risk of them breaking their backs or other bones. Now it is much safer and people are given a sedative and I believe also a muscle relaxer to prevent them from breaking bones. Still doesn't sound much fun, though, but for some people it's the only thing that helps.

I say clear up the debris and put down some grass seed and let someone move right in. =)

You also have to remember that a lot of mentally ill people do smoke themselves. Schizophrenics have been known to be chain smokers because the nicotine calms down their brain a bit. So it's not unusual to find a smoking room in a psychiatric hospital at all.

If only somebody used locations like this for the Resident Evil Movies then it would have done justice to the original games. The whole range is cool love your work
