i am a student studying mental health nursing and i have witnessed ECT being done, before this i was against it totally but to see the difference in the patient (who had severe depression) and to see them walk out of the hospital doors happy and back to herself with their partner was amazing.
scary, yes but when done properly, it is quite the miracle!
it is now only know to be effective for depression and as said in previous comments does not work and can worsen people with schizophrenia.
I think you mean 'in Cymraeg;' NatStarr. Please dont insult us with your ignorance! This hospital was the first Welsh language hospital of its kind, hence the Welsh signs. And why not have Welsh signs in Wales? I bet they have French signs in France dont you think? You may be surprised how many of us are Welsh speakers, especially in this area. Best check your facts dear. And learn some Welsh at the same time.
My mummy and daddy owned the hall in its day it was buitifull then it was sold and went to be a hospital and now it is a diaster wish it was still the same
Thats sad. Our school used to be very ornate like that and they went through it and destroyed it the same way with the dropped ceilings and putting cheap paneling up covering everything nice looking underneath.
Unfortunately the hall is no more... as with so many of the 'protected' building s here in the UK... they mystyeriously get set alight and therefore have to be pulled down rather than spending money to repair them and renovate! A great shame... and a too common story!
I think they may hint at the word 'Schedule' under the terms of the 1968 Medicines Act. Medicines under certain 'Schedules' were termed 'Poisons' and in order to comply with the act had to be locked away (from other drugs) and certain other laws had to be adhered to.
I work in a hosital in Canada. To this day, we still provide alcohol for pateints. If someone is a sevre alcoholic, to prevent withdrawl they will be given small amounts under a Dr.s persciption.
