Pretty sure these are part of Cavaglieri's stabilization work in 1975, or perhaps a later effort.

The first sizable building to utilize structural steel supports wouldn't be constructed until 1885, 31 years after the Renwick Smallpox Hospital's foundation was placed.

While the old and new contrast is interesting, I appreciate older architecture and consider modern architecture ugly by comparison. I'd rather just see nature or more old architecture, but there is plenty for all tastes here, which makes this site great. Keep up the good work.
