Definitely my prior question answered, it was snow!
Geeeee!!! You should have named this pic "forgetfulness"!!! because if that tree is "indoors", then only Motts, the tree and us are the only left interested in this place up to date...
I love the lighting on the tree, its paradogically set in relation with the shadows on the wall... something you would miss being actually there, but photography allows it!
Please tell me Lord Motts you got that perfect by the middle shadow on the tree by chance or you're the Devil in lens!!!
Not that much by day after seeing the prior pics, so darkness must be "something". Now the definition of 'darkness' being; "lack of light" looks pretty conservative to me.
Marvellous!!! Marvellous!!! Marvellous!!! Marvellous!!! Marvellous!!! Marvellous!!! ... don't you think Motts?
Insanely perfect!!!... I wonder where the decision of blocking the moon came from?
You're just so irreverent to all "cliches"... like this whole site is.
My best regards Motts!
The civil architect who installed that light should be reprehended. If it was just aligned with the upper edge of the building that shot would be insanely perfect. But guess he didn't know Motts was comin'!!!
my favourite place, i always used to look over the river at it and want to live there what a shame of a beautiful building. Why doesnt anyone buikd with pride anymore?
Such a beautiful structure, reminds me of a castle. The peaked windows with the awesome crowning on the top of the structure, absolutely gorgeous. It's really sad to see such an amazing structure go to waste, however, in a strange way, it makes it more beautiful to have the ivy and such being slightly over grown around it. Just amazing. It's really too bad that they don't build them like this anymore. It truly is.
It's interesting how they avoid the use of the words "asylum" etc...
The "state hospital to stately homes" craze is happening to many old, historic facilities in the US; some re-use the old buildings and others level the place. The following are mostly or totally demolished / renovated for housing already:
