also gives me a lil vertigo, like in the movies when the shot gets far away and spins and makes you feel the dread of sumthin bad. like seeing the guy at the end of the hall who is gonna kill you. "NO HUBCAP!"
@Eldokid I tried to "hold it" too my 1st time in, but if you don't shower the CO's will hose you down with high pressure hoses, throw louse powder and soap on you and spray you again. and yes there looks like there was a curtain, but you are still exposed to the people beside you just not across the room. or Ive seen clear curtains more to keep the water under control than showering,
Unfortunately I have stayed in cells like this too many times, either exactly like this or slightly larger (but u could have fooled me) with a bunk bed and a small shelf on the far wall. but you def wanna lie head away from the sh*tter and no soap dispensers, lol just a little indent on the left side of the sink, and it REALLY sux when someone on the block or floor somehow convinces the COs (Correctional Officers) that they flushed contraband because they can shut off the plumbing while the cells and sewer lines are searched, and can sometimes spend a day or more with no flushing. not the happiest place esp with roommates. Also interesting note about the light, it has either 2 or 3 tubes in it, where 2 or 3 are on during the day but at lights out it goes down to one light, so its never really dark. u learn to make masks to cover your eyes.
I agree with an earlier comment, but this looks like a perfect site for a prison movie or prison scenes in a movie. After all the quality of the site is 75%+ in good shape, and with locations like this getting complete overhauls into the prefab cinder block prisons now a days, it seems someone would have taken advantage of this retro reformatory.
@ Tjcee OH yeah! That is on the West Side and I am more on the North Side (Green Ridge) but we go to the Burger King on Luzerne St. sometimes. :) That street and area has changed SO much!
(Don't feel bad BKW Ontario...I have only the tiniest inkling to what that means...like somewhere I have seen or heard it before...I am pretty clueless!)
