Hope they donate those to some medical school(s)....would be sad to destroy all that information.
I love the view of the trestle behind the newer building and the lush landscape behind it....if that got converted to condos or something, could be a nice photo for the ad!
It's a lovely pressed tin ceiling. Many times tin was used when the original ceiling would crack and/or threaten to fall (the duct tape solution of the Victorian and post-Victorian era).

Yes, this wasn't a room for patients who would be physically aggressive, it was probably most likely used as a "time-out" room. It looks like the window had a cover so the person couldn't look out of it.
but not poor standards of taking care of them selves, doctors would have had to trust pacients enough not to break the window or injur themselves on the radiator. what a delightful sign though
actually i beleive that is a medical modle its self, judging from the poles coming out of the bottom, it would have been mounted on a wooden base and have the skeletal structure inside of it as well as a removable layer of musculature and the top layer of skin. so in other words, we're all right

There are a few, off the top of my head - the ones in Athens OH, Clarinda IA, and Independence IA are still in use as psychiatric facilities.

The top-leftmost structure is the large weathervane, to the right there is a lighting rod (it's cut off), you can see the grounded cable running down the roof on the right.
