Yup... the roof was pretty new, so it wasn't too slippery

It's pretty big... this shot doesn't include the giant medical building, ward buildings, doctor's homes, and the new psychiatric facility up on the hill back there (you can just see the tops of the buildings in this photo).

Slow and careful in this place! That wood is 130 years old, 20 of them being exposed to the weather.

It looks so different because I didn't get a chance to photograph the dacayed wards, it probably wouldn't have been a good idea back then anyways.

Sometimes you can tell just by looking at the water dammage on the ceiling... otherwise being slow and careful will tell if the floor is soft. If I'm really not sure and it's very dangerous, I won't even try. I've almost fallen through some roof blacktop at Northampton State, but that's about it (so far).

Yes it was part of occupational therapy. The men probably worked outside or in the shops.

This room was in the administration area and difficult to access, I would bet not one patient has seen this area.

Plywood is generally sold in six-foot sheets, so that is probably why it is a foot short! How funny!

Good thing, though, so you have light to take those awesome shots.

The title "Chaos" comes to mind upon seeing this photo. Simply gorgeous!
