Looks as though there's a blue sky over a pebble beach JUST outside the door.

School department I attended used them until I was in middle school. As I recall the teachers made a big deal when we got a photo copyer. That was 1989 as I recall.

Yes, these are boiler steam drums. The nearer drum looks like it has a level column with built in whistle alarm. Very interesting how the furnace door is missing. Possibly it had a tube rupture or small explosion inside??
