I have been fascinated with cemeteries for as long as I can remember. Perhaps its the must silence, or the peace of the souls that sleep in these places for eternity. It all really shows here.

You make me want winter again. & to finally get the courage to go to a cemetery and take their pictures...

Sealed coffins are pretty much industry standard. They don't all have outwardly visible clamps, but it is very common for them to be sealed and leakproof. However, decomp causes a kind of fermentation which will eventually rupture any sealed coffin, so I doubt this was used for storage. More likely it's just an unused leftover.
