In the meantime, lets give credit to where it is due! This is a amazing photo, with an angle thats unreal! Motts, how did you do this exactly? Leaning back, laying down, ???
Hey Autoguy it could be a zombie rat! Im sure if nothing else its a carcass of a frozen little white rat ! hahaha! Kathy i like to do the same, sometimes i see what others see and sometimes i dont, but its fun trying! Stay away from the wasp, i live in texas , and we have killer insects here,RATS 2!! LOL
Thnx again for another great set! This is one of the major icons of Detroit atrophy. Instead of being treasured as the obvious jewel it is, it has been made the whipping boy of a frustrating economic drain. Oops.
Efforts to secure this building and fund a restoration have obviously been unsuccessful. The last decade of neglect and vandal attacks have pretty much nailed the coffin shut on this place.
Temperature and humidity cycling in that area drenches and freezes the interior and all the mortars on a regular basis. Left open with no climate controls, we see the results. Some of the visitors aren't exactly doing the place any favors either.
LOL autoguy!
LucieLou...hmm, what I see at (not sure if it's what you are seeing) could be a dirt dauber nest. Unfortunately for me, I think we do have them here (I'm in Connecticut)....EEEEK! Damn I hate wasps and bees, etc., maybe cause I'm allergic to them.
I actually like trying to see things that other people see in the pictures, I feel like I actually miss a lot so no problem! :)
The "remuddling" efforts were done to modernize the station to the style of the times. By the 70s, however, the writing was on the wall for passenger rail. The workers that arrived through this station manufactured the personal transportation that replaced it. Ram-trak can now only operate with large gov subsidies.
Kathy, I think you are such a good sport! My friend says it looks like a dirt-daubers nest, dont know if you have them where you live? But im sticking to the white rat, Thanks for trying opacity friend!!
