This would be a good background shot in a post-apocalyptic movie.
I think Motts is right about the mirrors -- you can see the bracket that held the tops of a mirror just below each of the upper light fixtures, and especially on the middle one you can see the outline of where the mirror used to be.
Five minutes of continuous siren would be a disaster in and of itself.
They're light fixtures, nutsy.
I believe those are just the enclosures in which the radiators were housed. The radiators themselves were probably salvaged. Does that make sense with what you saw, Motts?
