Thats very real
I can just imagine the spectral images floating down these stairs and maybe even some banshee like wails of pain and terror accompanying them. CREEPY!
I love all of the pics and the info about this hospital. It is always both exciting and a little haunting to imagine what life was like in these abandoned places. Thank you so much for this inside look at this beautiful place.

I found an article yesterday on the Yahoo page about this place...i had to see more!! From what I learned yesterday this was one of the Withdrawl rooms they put patients in as they came to the place..they had a nurses window to observe them..once they withdrew the drugs from theyre systems, they would be allowed to go in to the regular population..I feel very fortunate to have found this plase...captivating!!
its not the mirror the walls bend

From the colors it could also have been an embalming room, or a place where they "harvested" organs for donors...

@FDNYMedic, lead doesn't float around in the air in it's solid form. It would have to be eaten like the flakes in lead paing
Thank you for the pictures of this hospital the screen in this picture must have been a psych ward or what is called a psych ward today. I worked in one years a go.

Symbolic,..for all of those,...that would want to make sure that those doors would never be looked do to evil. JUST PLAINED NEVER.

they watched over the patients, some in despair,..the nurse that would want to fight against the wrong doing would have to look the other way so not to lose her job,..for someone that had the stomach to watch the treatment.

the thin slat of wood was placed over the metal so that it would not frighten those that were going in. It was made to decieve them before they walked in. When they touched the door from the otherside, they realized the wieght and the construction of the door. As there eyes opened in fear of what would now happen to them behind that door once they knew they could not get out. Nothing was done to helo them,...they would have fun watching the abuse, making them think to themselves,...now they know not to ever do bad or drug,...then things like that wouldn't happen. They were at their mercy of bad treatments. the words Merry Christmas and Happy New Year were placed as what they knew it would never be for the victims,..and the evil unbalanced pleasure the so call staff would enjoy. They should have wrote on that door,.."WHO REALLY IS THE SICK MINDED ONE"
