I just realized that this place is 10 minutes from my dad's house. I never knew it existed before! It's pretty creepy. [location named edited out, -Admin]

weasel,

I don't think people make these comments intending them to sound as cold as they do. I think after working in the field we tend to take these comments to heart because we have compassion for the people who had to live here when they were at the darkest periods of their lives. We empathize with the people who lived here and it sounds like people think it's funny they had to live in situations that today only an animal would live in. I know people don't mean to sound so harsh, but I know where you are coming from at the same time - it touches a raw nerve in me as well. :-(

This site is an epiphany ! Like the Greek tragedies, or Shakespeare it reveals the human condition and bares the moral soul.

The first thing I think of when I see the picture is the grand stair case of the Titanic.
Beautiful shot.

I went with my Grandma on Tuesday Bingo nights at her church when I was little. One night, she let me play and I got Bingo! Let me tell you, I was getting really nasty looks from some of those little old ladies! Looking back it was funny but my Grandma told me (not that long ago) that the time I won a few ladies told her that she couldn't bring me back because it was "their" game. She still took me along, but I never got to play again!

Wow! Those are EXACTLY the same mattresses provided by my school for dorm rooms... Thank goodness I have my own comfortable full mattress now! No more dorm bunks and weird mattresses! :0)
