Looks like something staining the runoff water from the leak above... it is an odd color though.

Perhaps that's why there was the waxy coating? To help with retaining whatever moisture the body might exude? Lynne? Any ideas?

Mr. Motts I'm kinda liking the way you are using "models" for the first time. :-)

The iron lung (sealed and air tight - with just the person's neck and head sticking out) increases and decreases the air pressure inside the chamber. When the air pressure in the lungs is less than that outside the person's body (i.e., the chamber), air is sucked into the nose so the person breathes; when the air pressure increases, the air is expelled. The machine literally breathes for the person. NOT a place you want to worry about a back-up generator. :-(
