Tony C. ~ Well, then we all need to win lotteries, so he can get started!!! : )
He could call it the Opacity Asylum and we could all just hang out there. That way we'd all be right there at his beck and call, and bug about when he's going to post new pics. "Are they done yet? Are they, huh?...huh?...huh?" Hmmmm. why does the door to his office have that drawbridge up and moat in front of it? Mannnnn....he thought of EVERYTHING in his design!
yea, stealing something from an abandoned building.... you know the place that got left behind after they took what they wanted out of it. kinda like leaving your trash outside, i bet you didn't know you trash once left out, is public property and anyone can take it ?
dont be such a bunch of idiots... the place was left to rot, if he finds something before you do, it's your loss, his gain.
as far as him spraypainting .... let him. he got there before you, and if you have any brains, you'll notice his marks all lead in, around and back out of the places. much like a good tracker marks his trail / path, to find his way out.
maybe some of you over pretentious children could take some lessons from the " old man"
Geez dude, what a place and what a picture! It is frortunate that you are capturing so many of these places before they are gone forever! And for that we all Thank You!!!!
Fair enough Sketch. You may have noticed that our very own Dr Sketch has been here a long time too so it was natural that we would assume someone had hijacked his name. Not to mention the fact that it was really confusing...I responded thinking it was our buddy. There are a few trolls wandering about you see, so it was nothing personal. We're just looking out for each other.
Just thought I'd let you know, we aren't unwelcoming in anyway. I just thought that if you had been lurking here for a while you would have noticed the similarity in usernames.
You know Tommeh!!!, that's a really interesting idea you have there. All these structures that Motts has taken pictures of, the designs of the many different rooms, hallways, window placements... I wonder if there WAS a rhyme or reason as to why they were constructed the certain way that they were. It's been studied how colors, like wall paint, can effect a person's mood, so why not explore the way a whole building is designed for its specific purpose?
I'm sure that because of the area this asylum covered, long hallways could not be avoided. But, maybe that is why there are so many windows, and why they are so close to each other. To allow sunlight into what was no doubt a very intimidating hallway for staff and patients to use. Can you imagine, when it was in use, having to walk down these long hallways without windows, and just the lights you see above?
I know Tony C. ! : ) Motts has definately a talent for making a person think they have vertigo with his pictures like these. I've had vertigo two times and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy! : P "Bleahhh"
this picture is fantastic. it looks like it is crying from the neglect it has received over the years with no one who cares. it amazes me how a picture can tell a story and so many peole can inturprit(spelling) what they see in it. giving the place a heart and a life. I love it.... again I only hope to have photos like yours someday Mr. Motts!
