Is this where the baseboard heating pipes were mounted? The copper is the first to 'disappear'. Looks like the tile floor was laid in a diamond pattern and the 'jagged edges' are all that remain. Unless of course I've got the whole 'up and down' thing wrong!

I really like the contrast in this photo, it's beautiful. I'm certainly glad they let the patients pick the colours, it adds a touch of warmth and humanity to something that (from my outsider point of view) seems like it would be cold or inhuman. Very nice, I've had an epiphany, I think!

believe it or not, the light near the red door seems welcoming to me. I like, wanna run to the light and get the hell out of the rotting area and out of the unknown, you know?
