I agree with AidenB, my first thought was that looks like a playpen. I definitely would of believed that is a jagged nursery picture.

I didn't find it all too creepy; some of the older gurneys and exam tables in other hospitals were more unnerving.

They seemed to be made of wood... each piece that protrudes down has a carving of some sort; the larger ones have scenes of people wrapping around the circumference, and the ones against the walls are adorned with faces and figures.

Eck......! It's a room that Martha Stewart would probably approve of. It has it's powder dry, 50's housewife appeal. Pink is the nemesis of all colors!

This is the changing rooms that ajoin the therapy pool on your 'Big Dipper' picture. The dehumidifier was recently installed before the decision was made to close the pool down. As it used to leak we kept a bucket under it as you can see from the picture. The yellow cupboards were used as lockers. The facility was pretty well abandoned in the late 90's with many things still left inside, such as the swimsuites, benchs,lockers etc. Since then the building has been vandalised and many things strewn around.

This small pool was used as a small therapy pool ajoining a daycare facility. The 'Dipper' was used for getting wheel chair patients in and out of the pool. Unfortunately this pool was eventually closed due to lack of funding. The N.H.S. land on which it stands as far as I am aware will be sold off for housing. The pool closed in the the late 1990's and at present (2007) the buiilding still remains standing, although now fenced off after suffering years of vandalism. In its day it gave much pleasure to the staff and patients who used it. Having worked there myself it is a bloody shame to see such a good facility gone to waste. Well done the N.H.S.
